This Father’s Day, we’re rolling out the green carpet for dads and their beloved dogs. For one special Sunday each year (out of respect for our resident bird population), Rippon Lea opens its gates for families and their four-legged members to enjoy the beautiful grounds together.
Bring your furry friends along for a wander around the gardens, lay out a picnic on the lawns, go blossom hunting around the estate, and soak up the glorious spring weather.
Style your pup in its finest Victorian-era costume or an outfit inspired by the grandeur of Rippon Lea Mansion and join the best-dressed competition at 1pm.
You can also admire a display of vintage vehicles from the Dandenong Valley Historic Car Club.
This year will be the last time Father’s and Dogs Day falls on Father’s Day. From 2026, our much-loved Dog Day will move to line up with International Dogs Day held at the end of August. So come along and enjoy – it promises to be a tail-wagging good time for all!
Please note that all dogs must be kept on a lead.
