Following a childhood steeped in centuries of tradition and her great aunt Jane’s legacy, Caroline was determined to be independent and carved out a highly successful career in business, which brought her to Australia in 2008. In 2012, Caroline was a finalist in the Telstra Businesswoman of the Year Awards and the same year was made an honourary life fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.
In 2013 Caroline went back to her roots and launched the Jane Austen Literacy Foundation to improve literacy rates in developing communities, including remote Indigenous children here in Australia.
Caroline has recently published her memoir Jane & Me: My Austen Heritage about her childhood in Chawton and her lifelong relationship with her fifth great aunt Jane Austen.
