Can I bring a pet or assistance animal with me?

We welcome individuals with support animals (such as guide dogs) to visit. Because of the significant environmental and cultural heritage in our care, pets are not permitted at Rippon Lea. 

Does the property ever completely close?

Rippon Lea is closed on Christmas Day and during some major, full-property private booking events. Changes to regular opening times are published here.

Is Rippon Lea owned by the government or the council?

Rippon Lea is owned and managed by the National Trust of Australia (Victoria). We are a not-for-profit organisation committed to actively conserving and protecting our heritage for future generations to enjoy.

Can I visit inside the house?

Yes. Tickets can be purchased online or at the gatehouse upon entry to Rippon Lea.  

National Trust & Gardens Members receive discounted entry tickets to the Mansion.

Can I bring a picnic?

Yes, picnics are welcome. Please take all rubbish with you when you leave, as there are no public bins on site. Alcohol is not permitted due to RSA licensing requirements. 

Can I host a party or private gathering?

No. Private parties and organised gatherings are not permitted without a prior booking.
