To celebrate International Dog Day, Rippon Lea Estate is rolling out the green carpet for you and your four-legged friends. For one special day each year (out of respect for our resident bird population), Rippon Lea opens its gates for families, friends and their four-legged members to enjoy the beautiful grounds together.
This year’s event is hosted in partnership with Hear no Evil – Australian Deaf Dog Rescue.
Bring your furry friends along for a wander around the gardens, lay out a picnic on the lawns, go blossom hunting around the estate, and soak up the glorious spring weather.
Food trucks will be available onsite, alternatively you book your own picnic hamper ahead of time to pick up at the gatehouse when you arrive.
The Mansion will be open from 11am – 2pm. Additional charge for entry, sorry no dogs allowed inside.
It promises to be a tail-wagging good time for all!
All dogs must be kept on a lead.
Note: International Dog Day is on Wednesday 26th August, Rippon Lea will be celebrating by opening its gardens for this event on Saturday 29 August 2026.
