Planning your visit

Rippon Lea House & Gardens is located approximately 7kms from Melbourne’s CBD, in the bayside suburb of Elsternwick.

The property address is 192 Hotham Street, Elsternwick.

Parking is available locally - there is no onsite parking or vehicle access to the property. We highly recommend using public transport.

Note: Only trained Service Animals will be permitted on site.

Rippon Lea's Opening Hours:

The Gardens will be open daily 10am to 4pm with last entry to the grounds at 3.30pm.

Disabled Access:

Rippon Lea House and Garden can provide a wheelchair for people with mobility issues. Please call the estate on 9523 6095 in advance to ensure that it is available for use.

The Rippon Lea Gatehouse house disabled bathroom facilities and there is disabled access to the ground floor only of the Mansion.

Please note that the garden paths are gravel and can make wheelchair access difficult. Please speak to the staff in the gatehouse for a map which highlights the more wheelchair friendly paths.

Admission Prices:

General admissions price for entry to the Miss Fisher Murder Mystery Costume exhibition - Adult: $20, Concession: $18, Child (15 years & under): $10, Family (2 adults + up to 2 children): $50.

Membership admission prices for entry to the Miss Fisher Murder Mystery Costume exhibition - Adult: $18, Concession: $16, Child (15 years & under): $7.50, Family (2 adults + up to 2 children): $45.

When planning your visit, Rippon Lea offers the following facilities and features: Guided tours, Nature walks, Gardens of special interest, Gift and coffee shop, Picnic areas, Functions & Education services, Wedding receptions, Ceremonies and photo locations, Activities suitable for less active visitors.

Please note, prams are unable to be pushed through the mansion but can be left inside the entrance hall during your visit.

Getting Here:

The property can be easily accessed by train with a 5 minute walk from Rippon Lea Station.

The 216 or 219 Bus departs from Queen Street in the City on the south east corner of Queen and Collins Streets. Depending on traffic the journey takes 30 - 45 minutes. There is a stop directly outside Rippon Lea Estate. Ask the driver to set you down at the first stop after Glen Eira Road.

Alternatively parking is available locally should you wish to drive (Mel ref 67 F2)- please note that there is no onsite parking.

Should you have mobility issues where offsite parking is problematic please call the duty supervisor 9523 6095 to arrange suitable access. To accommodate requests we prefer 24 hours notice.
