Heritage Festival – Rippon Lea Garden Tours

-

Wednesday 18 April, until Friday 18 May

The Rippon Lea Estate Gardens are of national significance; a tranquil oasis in the heart of suburbia. The National Trust invites you on a journey of discovery and learn about the development of the Estate. Back by popular demand, our 40 minute walk focuses on the Estate’s social history.

The Rippon Lea Estate Gardens are one of the gems in the National Trust’s crown and are of national significance. Developed by owner Frederick Sargood in the Picturesque style in the 1880s, Rippon Lea is the largest surviving 19th Century Estate in Australia.

During this fascinating walk (approximately 40 minutes), visitors will learn about the development of the Estate and hear stories of how the Pleasure Garden has been enjoyed by the families who were proud to call Rippon Lea their home. Tours of the garden focus on the Estate’s social history.

The 14 acre Estate boasts an abundance of beautiful trees, sweeping lawns, a lake and look-out tower, together with a magnificent fernery.
