Eglantyne – The Play

2pm & 6.30pm -

Thursday 24 August, until Friday 25 August

Eglantyne is a one woman play exploring the extraordinary life of Eglantyne Jebb, a courageous humanitarian, human rights activist and social reformer.

In 1919, responding with humanitarian zeal to the devastating famine in postwar Europe, Eglantyne and her sister Dorothy Buxton founded Save the Children, the world’s leading independent organisation for children. In 1923, Eglantyne drafted the Rights of the Child which evolved into the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Returning from a successful tour in the UK, the solo play Eglantyne, written, produced and performed by Anne Chamberlain will be playing in Melbourne’s very own, Rippon Lea House on 24th and 25th of August.

Receiving 4.5 stars by the Adelaide Theatre Guide after her Adelaide Fringe Festival appearance, and numerous other critical acclaims – it’s a show not to be missed!

Enjoy complimentary refreshments and nibbles on the night.

All proceeds will go towards Save the Children Australia programs.
